The technology sector has a real carbon footprint from the energy powering our devices and servers to the flights taken to meet clients. At CAD, we believe that building great software and taking responsibility for our environmental impact aren't separate goals. Beyond managing our own emissions, we have a unique opportunity to reduce the footprint of every app we build and optimise — meaning our impact grows in the right direction with every new client we take on.
Did You Know? Poorly optimised apps generate more AI queries, consume more processing power, and require more energy to run server-side cooling systems. By helping clients build leaner, more efficient apps — reusing code, reducing duplicate queries, and optimising for lifetime usage — we can meaningfully reduce the environmental cost of the products we build, not just our own operations.

We have measured and published our 2025 operational baseline emissions. 7,270 tonnes CO₂e, or 1.82 tonnes per person. Annual reporting will continue with a target to reduce intensity year on year.
We actively guide clients to reduce AI query volume, avoid duplicating functions, and reuse codebases, delivering cost savings and carbon reductions simultaneously.
We will publish our emissions annualy, benchmarked against our 2025 baseline per-person intensity of 1.82t CO₂e. Reviewed December each year.
Even as headcount grows, we will continually reduce our emissions per person below the 2025 baseline - growth without compromise.
