Create an app that allows the user to easily record data on both crops and livestock in their local area.
Provide the information that has been recorded from the user to AA international so they can view and act upon the data.
The data needed to be easily updated by the user through the chosen input fields. This included an easy to use interface which allowed the user to simply add the number of crops and livestock with a simple add button.
The app needed to have a unique login for each user so AA international could tell what user was inputting what data from what local area to them.
The app allowed the users to compare the preset images on the app to what they’re seeing in real-time in their local area.
A backend was built so the AA international team could manage the users and admin, make changes as they see fit, and manage the locations. This also allows AA international to see what the user is doing.
The user interface for the app is very simple and easy-to-use with simple plus and minus buttons to add and take away from the total number of crops. This needed to be easy-to-use and well monitored due to a wide range of people using the app within Africa.
The app allowed AA international to send out unique login’s to all their user so they know exactly who is recording what allowing the data to be as accurate as possible.
The PET App provides a simple, easy-to-use process for recording the level and quality of crops and livestock where its most needed. It allows the user to effectively compare, record and sync results straight to AA international. All this AA international to react to this data to make sure everyone has enough food in the toughest times.
The target audience for the PET app was AA international employees in the targeted countries using the app. The app needed to be easy-to-use so even people with minimal knowledge of mobile devices this meant when creating the app it needed to include all the key terms and graphics that would be recognised by anyone picking up the app. The app used basic colours that would be easily recognised and had pre-existing connotations.
